Can I do this with MS Street & trips on GPS...

I have an Axim 51v with the Dell Navigator software.

Before I got into GPS I used Delorme to create a route and then would tweak it by adding a "Via" or Override to make the route to my liking.

I just got hold or MS Street & Trips 2006 with the PPC output feature. I made a short test route and then add some stops to customize the route. Then I exported the Map to my PPC and loaded it. The GPS logo shows up fine and is working, but will the application use GPS to simply follow my course regardless of the Map or will it actually do a Hybrid GPS guidance using my route?

My goal being to create a route on the PC tweak it and then use it on my trip with the GPS to be my copilot in case something causes me to veer of too far.

I is the possible? I'll consider other Software if the Feature is available.

Far as I know, MS S&T 2006 will only allow you to download static maps to your PPC. It will not work with your GPS system.

Well is there ANY program that will work with the Axim and do the hybrid GPS thing.

GPS is great if the road is clear, but it no better than a paper map if you spend 3 hours in traffic, because you can't "advise" it to use a variation of its route.

OK, I can only tell you what I do. I use iGuidance 3.1 for GPS and MS S/T 2006 for mapping. I plot my original course in S/T, then print it out. I then select my destination in iGuidance. Many times this gives me two different routes. Once I start driving I use part of both routes. You see, iGuidance has a re-route function that allows you to go off course and it recalculates the route to your destination, so if you run into traffic, you can drive around the traffic but still be directed to your destination. (All of the good GPS software out there has the re-route function). The re-route function happens pretty quick, but sometimes it wants you to go back to where your original route, until it figures out where it is going. :rolling: That is where the S/T info comes in handy, as I keep driving toward my destination until iGuidance recalculates the route. I know this sounds confusing, but actually it works well for me. I'm sure others have a different view on how to do this, but this works for me.
