Plz help!! Need GPS for the road!

Plz Help, need GPS for the road!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all,
Sorry for reposting but got a little taken back at first with the mention of Axims and no IPAQs in sight :(

Annnyway.....
I have a 6515. I am currently in North Dakota and am leaving to drive back home to NYC hopefully by the end of this week. With my old 6315, I had MS streets and trips 05, and for walking around within the city (NYC) it was good enough for me, but for a cross country trip as this, what software could anyone recommend that would minimize the amount of maps needed to display that much area? I have 2gb worth of space utilizing the SD cards, and am willing to go up to a 4 that I can borrow from my cousin if needed.

Orrr, a preferrable solution if this does in fact exist which this day in age seems very likely.... If I were to bring a long the IPAQ cradle and my laptop (with X mapping software), can the PPC be attatched in the cradle utilized as the GPS reciever while the map area is displayed on the laptop? I hope I'm making some sense here. Thanks for reading and your imput! Much appreciated!!

Barry

You didn't say what GPS receiver you have, but can it be attached to the Laptop? I don't think you can get GPS data from the PDA to the laptop, at least as far as I know.

This forum, btw, was originally on Aximsite, which is dedicated to Axims, hence the Dell flavor. But we try to support any and all GPS apps on PDAs when we can.
