Arkon Powered Auto Mount for X51v

Hi,

I use Tom Tom 6, X51v and the powered windshield mount from Arkon. I have asked this question of Arkon via phone and email and have received no rsponse.

This mount is for the regular battery and back on the X51v. I would like to know if this mount can be modified to use the extended battery and back. It looks like the side arms plus the Axim connector at the bottom would have to be extended out about 1/2". I looked at the Arkon catalog but couldn't see a solution.

Any help here would be really appreciated.

Very true but I use the Axim for other purposes as well. When I leave the car, I want to be able to take it with me without having to carry two batteries. More of a convenience factor for me.:approve:

I have an Arkon mount with my Toshiba 740 with the extended battery which is thicker and much heavier than my X50v with a 2200 battery and it works fine with both. The Axim feels even more secure due to the lighter weight.

I agree that the Axim will be held OK. What doesn't work is the ability to plug in the power to the Axim. How do you handle the power connection?

I use the style that uses a cable to attach power to the bottom.
