Dell GPS Nav. & Bluetooth pairing problem.

My Axim 51v is unable to detect my new bluetooth Holux M-1000 receiver. I have re-installed the software since it came with a wired receiver initially and worked fine wired. However, I have followed the instructions on setting the com7 port and and my axim will find the holux receiver in my new partnership.

Problem is when I start up the dell GPS Nav. program, it's unable to detect it.

Have you changed the settings on the nav program to look for COM7?

There's only the ability to do that when you click on options-gps options. Once you open gps options you only get auto detect when you install the dell nav. with bluetooth. When you install with wired gps receiver then you get = auto detect-com port-baud rate. So unless there's something I've done wrong or it's somewhere else, I can't get it to pair up.

I had problems getting a new X51v to talk to my GPS using the Dell Software. The X51 could see and pair to the GPS but the software wouldn't work. After a lot of trial and error and with some help on this forum these are the setting I use that work for me.

WM5 GPS Setting
GPS Program Port - COM8
GPS Hardware Port - COM7
Baud Rate -4800

Access - Select Manage GPS Automatically(recommended)

Do not pair GPS as Dell Software won't work then.

When I start up the Dell GPS I have to go to options - GPS options - autodetect.

This normally then picks up the GPS and away you go. Occasionally I have to do it a second time to pick up the GPS.

The only other thing to check is that the Dell bluetooth GPS were rebadged Globalsat with a pin of either 2003 or 0000 for the later version and this seems to be hard coded in the software. If your holux uses another pin then that might be a problem.
