I don't use my GPS that much - I usually know where I'm going and don't need directions, but it's working great for me. No complaints or problems.

Works well

I've used it on trips from Ohio to S.C. and Michigan with zero issues.

I have had problems with iGuidance v4 crashing and with slow intersection searches on my x50v. I have posted these problems on GPSPassion forum, but I can copy them here if anyone is interested.

I would not know where to begin helping you as mine is working well. I have not had any problems with any of the versions that I have used. With that being said I would suggest you look at how much memory you have to run it in and where it is installed. My bet is on the memory. If it is mission critical to use; a hard reset might be in order. Sorry I can not help any more than this.

Here is a copy of the post. Note that this crash occurs on my PC (laptop and desktop) and PPC (x50v with 30+Meg free after soft reset). It only occurs at a specific map location, but others have duplicated the crash at other map locations.

- "On my PC, I do a city center search then map to Payson, AZ. Then I pan the map so the cursor is just slightly south east of Payson. Then as I zoom in the program crashes when the zoom level gets below the 2 mile scale. If I already have the map below 2 mile scale and pan east of Payson the program will crash. This is very repeatable. There must be some sort of "error" in the map database. This happens on my PC, my laptop, and my PPC."

Do me a favor. Start a new thread about this and you are more likely to get some help on this. I am afraid people won't see it burried in here. Just copy and paste what you posted here. and I will move my post and delete from here.

One last thing. I think you sould call Inav because this sounds like a software promblem ie bad disk or something creating bad install.

I thought about starting a thread here, but I didn't get much response at gpspassion so maybe this is not an issue for most users. If you are not travelling through or panning around the "bad" map areas then the program works fine. By the way, I did contact iNav and convinced them to send me a new disk. I reinstalled the program on PC, laptop, and PPC but I still have the problem so I think it is somehow tied to the map data files.

I am sorry I still don't have an answer hear. I've been around this place for a while. I am trying to give you advice to get this problem seen, so I think it needs to be in a separate thread, so people will see it, as you can see I am the only one responding to it. Most people will click in and read the first few post and not make it to the end is the only reason I suggest this. I think part of the reason nobody is answering this; is that they are not experiencing this problem and do not have an answer for it. Just trying to help.

I'd agree that this seems to be a problem with the map. Hopefully you'll get iNav's attention and they will fix the problem. I wonder if there are any other "places" on the maps that have the same issue.

I heard from the folks at iNav this morning and they are supposedly rolling out a new website after T-giving and they say it will allow us to register online. Let's hope this is true! :approve:

I have had some trouble using iGuidance on my X50v. Sometimes it lags behind and takes a while to catch up. I have seemed to fix this problem by setting my processor to run at maxium performance. I also usually have to do a hard reset after using iGuidance.
