Today,
Tracky 3.1 has been released, see also the press release.
Tracky 3.1 allows you to search in Yahoo's database for Points Of Interest (POIs), currently covering the USA region. Other POIs databases to which you already had direct access are:
- businesses (Google Local Search)
- photos (Panoramio.com)
- Wikipedia entries (Wikipedia.org)
- geo-caches (Geocaching.com)
- weather stations
POIs - either found in one of these database or manually added - can now be given a phone number. You can simply call this phone number from within Tracky. :)
More features are added: you can choose in which GPX file to record new tracks (e.g. record multiple tracks in the same GPX file), a color wheel allows you to simply pick a color for your tracks, the data folders can now be re-read without restarting Tracky, you can choose to let Tracky compute the heading and/or speed i.s.o. using the one given by your GPS, and the feedback of the SpeedAlert tool is improved.
Tracky 3.1 furthermore includes some bug fixes:
- GoogleMaps problem with 'no maps at this zoom level' fixed
- performance of online GoogleMaps download improved
- GPS compatibility improved
- performance of main screen improved for long tracks
- fixes in parsing of wide characters, as a.o. used in Asia and Scandinavia (used in Directions tool and Search tool for POIs)
- stability problem solved in Directions overlay
