OCN 6.0 not detected by X51V
I recently purchased OnCourse Navigator 6.0 (European version) for my Axim X51V. When I arrived in Europe, I put the card (a micro SD adapter in a mini adapter SD card) into my Axim X51V SD slot. I turned on my Axim but it failed to detect it.
After returning North America, I've tried to detect the card with my computer by putting it in a SD slot but it also failed to recognize it in the slot.
Is there something wrong with card or am I doing something wrong?

The same version worked for me in my X50v just fine. Have you used the SD slot before and know that it works? Was the mini-card properly inserted? Did either the AX or the PC give any error messages?

It's an honor to have you reply. I read your posts, including your GPS 101 and GPS 201 tutorials, before I decided on my GPS hardware and software.
I use a 2 gig SD card in my X51V without any problems. When I put in the 2 gig SD card and go into file explorer, it appears under My Device as SD Card along with my compact flash card which appears as CF card. When I put in the OCN SD card, only the CF card appears. File explorer does not indicate an SD card is present.
When I put the 2 gig SD card in my computer it appears with all of the files on the card. When I put the OCN SD card in, I get a message there is no media the drive. BTW I use Ubuntu (a form of Linux) as my PC operating system.
The OCN Sd mini-card does click into place similar to my 2 gig SD card on my X51V.
The OCN software is on a card within a card. The outer card is titled MiniSD Adapter (the same size as my regular 2 gig SD card). The card that fits into it is titled OCN MicroSD adapter. The MicroSD fits only one way into the MiniSD.

Yep, sounds like you have it right. Have you tried contacting Joe Kee about it? My OCN6 European is exactly the same card-within-a-card and as I said, it worked just find in my X50v. If you cannot use it or open it, the card or the adapter may be bad. (I'm familiar with Ubuntu, I have 7.10 on my home network as the Samba server.)

Great to hear about from a fellow Ubuntu user. I use 7.10 as well and highly recommend it anybody I meet.
I'm not sure who Joe Kee is? If he's with OCN, It would be great if you could provide a contact address. You can send me a personal message if you like.
I did try to send a fax to OCN (as suggested at the back of their manual) to explain my problem but the fax could not be delivered for some reason. It's odd that OCN does not have a tech support hotline

Look for Joe here at Aximsite. He frequents here and has an account cleverly listed under "Joe Kee." I don't know if he gets email or PM from here, but it's worth a shot.
You can also try posting in their support forums at OnCourseNavigator.com and you can open a trouble ticket there as well.

OCN support
OCN Team provides some support at their own forum and they are fairly good at answering questions and/or opening support tickets there. Here is the link to the sub forum I think you need to visit:

Just Curious
Is the card a micro SD or a micro SDHC card? SDHC cards are not compatible with the Axim unless you add a specific DLL that can be found by searching the forums here at Aximsite. This would also explain the problem with the flash drive reader on your PC, as most need new drivers to recognize SDHC cards.

Maximum Dude.
I'm fairly sure it's a micro SD card as I don't see SDHC written anywhere on the card. I posted a query at the OCN site hoping they might have an answer.

gagemunsun: I just checked with OCN and they have just responded to your ticket. Please continue to work with them via the ticket you opened.
Maximum Dude: OCN6 are distributed in 2 formats in microSD card size. On the 2GB card, it is a regular microSD card and on the newly launched 4GB card, it is a microSDHC card.
The 4GB card is not compatible with all versions of Axim PDA running either WM2003SE or WM5.
Also, most newer card reader could read microSDHC cards but older card reader will not be able to regonize the SDHC format at all.
Hope this helps.
