PDA Mounts

Has any one had a bad expierence with a pda car mount that they bought from ebay? I am either going to get the "GPS Holder Suction Mount Garmin GPSMAP 60CX 76cs iQue" which I think has a goose neck or "Car Mount PDA GPS Holder for NAVMAN PIN 570 PIN570" I have a hp 4705 with a 3600Mah battery right now and I will probably get the 6200 mAh battery in the next few months.

Would the ipaq with these big batterys be to heavy for a goose neck suction cup mount?

No matter which suction cup mount you get, don't ask the suction cup to carry the weight. Mount it low on the glass, extend the gooseneck out over the dashboard and let the ipaq rest on the dash. That way the weight isn't on the suction cup and it should hold much better.

valisman,
Your signature doesn't say where you're from. Just in case you're in the US and live in CA or MN, you can no longer legally use a windshield mount.

The suction mouts with the long goose necks don't work too well.

i have a 4700 with 3600mAh battery. i bought a screen mount from ebay. it is ok but as Jakerich said mount it so the ipaq is resting on the dash . if you can spend a bit more get one that isnt flexible, cause even if it does hold the weight as you drive the damn thing bounces !! much less bounce when set to rest on the dash...

I'm in a good mood :) And I don't know why. Wife is going out, bills are under control... Ebay! That's it!

the gooseneck mounts are useless...unless you want to bounce with it as you are driving.
