Exclamation Ghost of uninstalled Garmin Que appears each use!!!!

Help! When I first got my x51 I installed Garmin Que, later uninstalled it and returned it as performance was unsatisfactory. Now every time I activate my Axim I get a "cannot execute Garmin Que" box which I have to x out, and then ANOTHER identical but slightly smaller box which also must be x'd out. I cannot reinstall/uninstall it as the software went back to the manufacturer.

I have searched every file, including hidden for anything Garmin or Que, also on my PC deleted every trace. Where can this possibly be coming from? I have to guess it's in the registry? about which I know nothing, and would greatly appreciate some help. It's most annoying! I've also done a couple of soft resets.
Thanks in advance!
Rob

File Explorer/Windows/Startup
Have you looked there for a link file that sends the AX
to start Garmin or a previous shortcut?

Yes I have looked there and everwhere else! The items in Startup are:
BTTTray, OdClientCeAutolaunchsmart.exe, poutlook, SplashV, and WirelessIcon.

Most of those mean nothing to me, maybe someone knows if any of those are unusual and might be the Garmin launcher?
At the moment I don't have any non-factory programs installed on the device.

Try Settings/Today/Items and uncheck anything on the Today screen associated with Garmin. In fact, uncheck everything, reset, and if you don't get the warnings, recheck each item one a a time to see what causes the message.

Mad GARMIN Que's GHOST- need help killing it!

I installed Garmin Que last year, didn't like it and returned it and uninstalled it. Ever since, every time I turn on the Axim x51, I get onscreen the notification "Can't execute Garmin Que". Not just one box, that I have to x out, then another smaller one I have to x out.
Now I have searched the unit, every file, and my PC and the only files left were on my PC and I deleted them. The notification appears without being connected to the PC.
This is really annoying, can someone help me find the source? I've checked startup, start menu and every other file on the unit for anything remotely like Garmin, Que, or their initials.
I can't install/reuninstall as I returned the software to the seller.
Thanks in advance,
Rob

sounds like there is till an entry in the registry. you need a registry editor then search for "que" that should find the entry..... there are lots availabe but i use "mobile registry editor" this one runs on your desktop computer when your ax is sync'd and accesses the registry. i find it easier to see as you have a big screen to see all of the registry key.

Ghost Exorcised!

Thanks, Spud! While I was downloading the registry editor, and I blush to admit it, it occurred to me that I hadn't tried a hard reset, I'm such a newbie. Voila! Problem solved.
Thanks again!

glad to hear it.. we all start somewhere ... lol

keep the registry editor handy though. it is needed to relocate stuff out of memory onto storeage cards etc... look for menneisyys tuts and posts... its good stuff.

Thanks, I was considering removing it, but will keep it. What does "menneisyys tuts and posts" mean, please?
Also, is there a way to search for just .cab files, which I gather are the main problem at the root of unwanted programs?

I just uninstalled a casino game using windows program uninstall, and it's all still there on my Axim in spite of synchronizing it? Is there a trick I need to know? Thanks for your help.
