TomTom Navigator 6 keeps turning on

Hi,

Just got my Axim x51 and Globalsat BC-337 working, but Tom Tom keeps turning itself on even when no one is near the PDA. I have the fake server to stop WM5 from doing the same and that worked, but I can't find a setting in Tom Tom to stop this. Any ideas?

Thanks
Bruce

It may not actually be turned off. Have you looked at settings/power/running programs to make sure it's actually stopped? Remember, the little X in the upper right corner doesn't actually kill a program, it just pushes it into the background, still running.

I think it's off. I used vbar to shut down all programs. When the PDA starts, the Tom Tom startup screen displays, looks like it is starting fresh, not just coming back to life.

I couldn't find the list of running programs at Settings/power did I miss it?

Thanks for your reply

Bruce

Look in /windows/startup to see if there is a link to TomTom there. If TT is running from a cf/sd card, look for a folder called 2677 and see if there is an "autorun.exe" or "autorun.lnk" there. Rename it to something other than "autorun" and soft reset.

thanks

Hey JakeRich, thanks, I think that did it. My file was 2577, but I renamed the autoexec and no more problems, at least not that one.
