Boy, it sure looks like the discussions about iGuidance have dried up around here! Does anyone know, who still uses it, if there are any updates around the corner? I'm not quite sure that they have had any for 4.0. They could use some POI updates for Canada (PEI and Nova Scotia). Some very well known lodges and restaurants are not in there.

There are no updates available for 4.0. There has not been much activity with inav period. I am thinking about going to An AIO gps.

Well....here is some good news about the IG4 updates:

Update v4.0.1 (for v4) is being tested right now and will most likely be available the same time we release v4.1 map upgrade.

v4.0.1 update (free to existing v4 customers): mid July
v4.1 PC version: hopefully no later than 3rd wk of July
v4.1 Pocket PC version: hopefully by end of August

I have just purchased (and am waiting for delivery of) version 4.0 and the maps. Will the v4.1 maps be a free upgrade?

My order just arrived. Depending on when the 4.1 maps are released, I may get them for free (plus shipping I would assume). Looks like the policy is this if the maps come out within two months of purchasing the software:

If a newer map upgrade is released within 2-month period after your iGuidance purchase from our authorized resellers (based on invoice date), you may qualify for free map upgrade (ex. you purchased v3.0 on 5/30/07 and v4.0 is released on 7/1/07 which is within 2 months). In general, you must claim your free exchange copy within 30 days of new map upgrade release date. Updates you obtained for free or purchases through secondary market and/or non-authorized resellers are not eligible for this offer.

The update to the existing iGuidance 4.0 is not going to be v.4.01, nor 4.1, etc. The next version is going to be called iGuidance 2009, as recently announced by iNav Corp. The PC and PPC versions will now be a separate purchase :(. First the PC version will be released, and the PPC version will follow shortly after.
