As a long time rider myself, I would never recommend any sort of handle bar or instrument mounted GPS.
The last thing you want to be doing on a bike is looking at directions on a little screen that half the time is barely visible because of glare.
I use GPS all the time on my bike but I only use the audio directions.
Fortunately, I have a full bluetooth system in my helmet which makes life easy. But I used to use normal earbuds connected to my X51v in my pocket.
You don't mention if you have a PPC, but you can certainly buy one for less than the Garmin and it is more useful than just a GPS.
I mostly use my Advantage for GPS now and it either lives in my saddle bags or in a clear fronted tank bag. This way, it is easily accessible if I need to set a destination, but isn't in my line of sight to distract me when riding.
I've read about too many accidents where the rider says, " I was just looking for a second at my GPS and the car in front stopped etc etc"
Ride Safe. :approve:
