I may be visiting US during the end of this month and may be there for about a month. During this period, i want a solution to help me go around by myself. I am visiting Bellevue, WA.
Basically what i want is something like Google Maps 2.2. I can search for POIs and get the directions along with Transit information to travel there. This is exactly what i want. But the problem is, i will not have a mobile forgot about mobile internet. Google maps require a data connection.
So, i am looking for a software that provides the same information offline. I am willing to pay $20 - 30 if required. I will be carring my HP 111 classic PDA with OnCourse 3 BT GPS receiver. Any suggestions?
Also is there anyway i can subcribe to some type of mobile or wifi data connection for a month.

I assume you have the OnCourse navigation software? If so, can you go to their WEB site and get the maps for your program. I know OCN6 is out now, but you might be able to get the maps. Although, I think you might have to pay more than $20 - $30.

I don't have Oncourse software. I only have the BT GPS receiver.
Other software (TomTom, iGuidance) also should work, but expect to pay $100 or so for them...
TomTom has a lot of POI info, but my experience with the maps is that addresses may be off on maps by +/- 50 meters. The maps display correctly, somehow the address info is a bit out.
The iGuidance POI aren't as good but the addreses seem to track more accurately.
I think none of the softwares will provide directions for the transit. I am checking out if i can get buy a short term prepaid data plan from a cellular phone provider. Any recommendations?
Then, unless you're willing to spend at least $100 for some software and maps, you may be out of luck.
I personally use iGuidance myself. If you go to BuyGPSnow.com they have it for just under $100 and you'll get a Mobility site discount.
You could also check out their free GPS software. The GeoMicro Mobium might be the way for you to go. Download it just before you go and it has a 30 day free trial.

What do you mean by transit? Are you talking about the travel from India to U.S. or just after you get into U.S.?

Transit, i meant information on the bus routes and train routes for travelling in a city in USA. The new Google maps has this feature but that requires data connection.
How good is buying T-Mobile hotspot service to use their WiFi hotspot points?
Google maps may have that information. But, I doubt any other GPS software has it.
T-Mobile has very good service here. One of the people I work with has the hotspot option on thier phone and love it. Of course you have to be in one of their hotspot places. I'd suggest going to their Web site to see what locations they have in the Seattle area.
Ps - Keep in mind train and bus service in the U.S. is not as good as other countries.
