Dell Axim X51 Bluetooth and Com ports

Hello,

I have a Dell X51 and am having trouble getting my Bluetooth GPS (Holux M-1200) to work with two programs. I use 4 programs in total (ArcPad 7.0, OziExplorerCE, TomTom 5 and GarminQUE). I cannot get the com port coordinated for TomTom or GarminQue. Does anyone know how to reconfigure the Com ports either from the application side for the system side? I have done the program preferences and only have options for Coms 1, 3 and 5 and the Dell Axim only shows Com 7 and 8 as available.

Are you try to use a Windows setting for hardware port mapping? Start->Settings->System->GPS and then in hardware section select you Bluetooth GPS port (of course you need to create a partnership between GPS and Axim before) then select speed (please check in docs connection speed for you GPS). Go to Access page and check Manage GPS automatically option. Go to Programs section and select available com port and use this port in you programs.
Good luck! :approve:

I had similar issue, but resolved it with GPS Proxy software. You can download it free from here:
SourceForge.net: GPSProxy

I found it usefull tutorial on how to set GPS Proxy up on this page:
PocketPC Setup Guide to use Malsing maps - MalsingWiki

Look under Setup GPSProxy 2.x

Hope this helps
