What's Best for Western Europe

Hi all,
It's been a while since I've been on here, but I need a little help.

I'm getting ready to move to Germany in a few months and I need to know which Nav program would be best for Western Europe.

I've used iGuidance for the last 3 years and I love it. I use it on every trip and it saves me a big headache. Unfortunately, they no longer offer European coverage.

Through my research it looks like TomTom would be a pretty good choice, but I'm having a hard time finding a place that sells the software (at least one that I know is reputable). What do you recommend?

Also, I see mention of TomTom 7, but the TomTom site itself doesn't say anything about 7. It only has 6 on it. Has 7 been released yet? Will it be compatible with the Dell Axim X51v using a BT-338?

Thanks much.

I just purchased OnCourse Navigator 8 - OCN8. It is the iGO8 software repackaged for the US market: http://www.navngo.com/

I first saw this in action in a taxi cab in Budapest in October, and asked the driver what he was using since it was running on a HP PDA.

NavNGo is based in Budapest, but have maps for all over the world.

It has a few "quirks" running on a 64MB X51v running WM6.1, but the graphics, useability and features are great. Seeing 3D buildings on screen as you pass them (in certain cities) is pretty amazing.

I just got back from a trip from Atlanta to Florida, and I switched back and forth between iG3 and OCN8. And, liked OCN8 much more.

Please ask if you have any questions.

Rob

rlichtefeld,
Thanks for the info. I would have figured more people would have posted something by now.

I've actually been looking really hard at Copilot 7. Their use of Navteq maps and the fact that the version is newer than TomTom 6 is a big plus.

Anyone have any thoughts?
