I recently sold a bunch of stuff in my "computer closet" in the basement, and was thinking of ways to max out my axim even further with a small portion of the extra money. The only other things I think I really want are possibly a bluetooth keyboard (even though Im more than happy with spb full screen keyboard), and a gps unit. Any recommendations for a bluetooth gps unit? I searched couldn't seem to find any satisfactory info. Thanks in advance.
I could see myself using the foldup type bluetooth keyboard, but probably not very much since I've gotten pretty proficient at spb fsk, and usually have no less than my axim, smartphone, and ipod on me at any given time...need more pocket space..

I won a copy of OCN8 in this past contest and have it installed on my 7501,
have not tried it on the 51v as of yet but my first reactions that it's worth
buying.
I am still trying with garmin mobile XT and my Axim...it is still not working...after nearly half a year of fiddling around.
Unless you are brave or a freak, do not use that combination.
However, as I am still trying...join the club and come to the rescue ( see my posting ) please
Another option to max out your X51v is to get the memory upgrade from PPCTechs. It has made running WM6 (Lennysh) amazingly fast. And it also allows me to use the Text To Speech functionality of OnCourse Navigator 8. Which at this time is the best PPC GPS application.
It is rebranded iGO8 from NavnGo. You can find lots of tweaks, themes, and speech files for this all over the web.

I know I have been deciding back and forth whether to get the upgrade or not, sadly I would feel a bit lost without my pda gone for a week I think.
It depends on what you want to do with it. If you are looking to move it from vehicle to vehicle and you don't want to spend a lot of money, you'd do great with something like the Garmin Nuvi 250 w or the Magellan Roadmate 1200. Both are inexpensive, easy to operate (you don't need an engineering degree), both have wide screens and more features then I can list here. If you're looking for something for outdoors, take a look at the Magellan Triton Series or the Garmin Colorado Series. These are hand held that offer GPS features such as height, distance, topography, land marks and worldwide basemaps.

With GPS, the best ones that I know of are Garmin, Magellan and Lowrance....either in an auto GPS unit or a handheld GPS unit. There are other good ones too but as far as I know of those are pretty much the top 3 that are available.
