I was looking into current GPS software for my ipaq but all I see is maps/software that are pre-installed on SD cards. Are there any providers anymore that also sell it on the CD/DVD like they did originally? I wanted something like my old TomTom software and not the kind of s/w like Delorme street atlas.

I have a 16gb card in my SD slot and I do not want to switch them out every time I want to use it and from what I read the contents of the SD card you buy the gps software on cannot be moved to another SD card.

I already have a dedciated TomTom gps unit as well, but wanted to add some more functionality to my ipaq like I did to my past Axim.

You can buy Tom tom as a download and then download the maps.
Therefore allowing you to put it on any card you want.

thanks. I am assuming I need to use tomtom home for the map process. what about the PDA software and the activation process? Is TomTom 6 still the latest PDA verison?

I checked their site previously and they have not sold any pda gps software since they discontined v6 and I read that there are no newer maps for v6 of tomtom.

I did find Route 66 mobile 8 which is on CD that I need to check into more and I also tried nav4all today on my ipaq. you need a data connection for that for rerouting purposes.
