GPS CMX External antenna solutions (magnetic?)

I have a BT Belkin unit (rebranded fortuna) that uses a MCX connection. I'm completely lost as to what companies make decent externally mounted antennas. I need something I can mount outside my vehicle, which would ideally be with a magnet so I can mount it next to my XM receiver antenna :p Any reccomendations on brand, and if not brand then perhaps specs I should be looking for? The dB for the official antenna from Belkin was 28dB, but I've seen as high as 55dB on ebay but I don't even really know what it means. It seems the higher dB results in more noise. This 55dB vs This 28dB for examples. Official one is here, that they don't sell anymore.
