Sirf mode or Nmea mode anyone ?

Hallo

Anyone how is running in Sirf mode do you notice
any diffrence and if so what is better our more trouble ?

99% of software uses the NMEA standard. Sirf is nice, but few use it. Given that you only need about 70 bytes of data to send the location fix, that fixes are sent one per second in both NMEA and Sirf and given that 4800 baud is easier on the Axim battery, it's hard to see much advantage to Sirf as a protocol.

I have no need to use Sirf. NMEA works fine and more standard. I think that Sirf is really a "legacy" protocol.

Sirf is actually the newer protocol, it's just that nobody has adopted it and abandoned NMEA. NMEA is just fine, so there is no pressure to drop it. Sirf faces a tough challenge to gain any traction.
