Axim x51 & Holux M-241

Hi, I'm having difficulty connecting to a Holux M-241 gps receiver/datalogger. I go through the bluetoth setup, enter 0000 for the passkey. When I try new outgoing port, I only get com 7 or 8 as choices, and on both it says comm port could not be created. I have tried the WM5 GPS setting on different ports, and tried checking and unchecking the manage automatically but still no joy.
Funnily enough, the only program that will connect and work is Cachemate for geocaching, but no other program
Has any one tried connecting with one of these, is it possible?
Any help Very gratefully received.

cheers

I have a Globalsat BT332 feeding my 51v and settings
under Start/Settings/GPS are:
GPS Program Port = NONE
GPS Hardware Port = Com 7 @ 57600 baud
Manage GPS Automatically is checkmarked

Start/Setting/Connections/Bluetooth are:
Devices = BTGPS serial #
COM Ports = BTGPS serial # (COM7)

Hope this helps.

Well I assume that you manage to get the pairing
accomplished on BT.Check on the GPS rcvr for a
passkey # as these units sometimes only accept
the number they are embedded with i.e. my BT332
has passkey # 2003 printed right on it.If you don't
accomplish pairing then all other steps are useless.

Hi, thanks for getting back, double checked the passkey, and it is 0000. Can't think of anything else.

Oh well, some you win...................

thanks again

just had a look at the Cachmate config, the only drivers that seems to connect to the GPS are called NMEA MS bluetooth, and not the WM5 GPS driver or NMEA serial, is this something written specificaly by the Cachemate writers?

cheers

I have no idea with regards to the drivers for Cachmate.
With my Globalsat I just paired it (make sure your 51v bt can be seen)
and followed up with Start/Settings/GPS.My 51v is factory stock.
