Never used one on the axim but I used to have one for my tape player was a cheapo from kmart, worked fine. Just be sure that you have more than one option for the frequency it transmits on, because even at close range too strong of a radio station will interfere with it. The one I had had a knob on it that gave a fairly wide range of frequencies. Best buy and radio shack carry them as does just about anyplace that sells car stereos.

I used one with my X5 and now use the same one with my jukebox. It works OK but you have to fix the settings occassionally. I'm looking for one that has presets and stay strong without having to mess with it often.

i've been using the belkin (white "ipod") unit for about 6 months.

works great for commutes. it's also good for bringing in your tunes in your house or at a friend's house.

the distance is interesting too - for SNGs we tested it out in my truck... new set of batteries, closed doors and windows rolled up. pulled up my buddies car, tuned into the frequency and then backed the car out of the driveway... 15ft. so, theoretically someone driving close by could pick up your transmission. of course i wouldn't recommend sharing your music with travel buddies in a seperate vehicle down the highway at 70mph

tip: keep the batteries fresh and make sure you "anchor" the unit.
hissing/static pop can occur if the unit jostles also it occurs in congested intersections where there are intersecting powerlines.
i used a small strip of velcro that gets attached to the back of the pda holder.
