Just got the Bluetooth to Serial Device and it works perfect on my computer and should work just the same on the PDA.

My PDA serial cable should be here soon.

Here is a picture of the whole setup, up and running....

I have successfully created a bluetooth link from my X3 without using my SD slot. It's not a totally wireless solution, but it lets me place my GPS whereever I want.

The serial cable also charges the pda at the same time, so you do not have to worry about using your battery.

What I am using is a NAVMAN 4400 GPS that has bluetooth.
I have created a rs232 serial port that connects to the bluetooth navman with the socket cordless serial adapter, I could get away with this because both the serial adapter and gps use SPP (serial port profile).

Here's the picture of my setup.

Make sure you have it set at 9600 baud, and make sure you have the password option turned off. What do you have it set to currently?

I set it for 9600 on the Socket setup and on the mapping software. Do you have to make a dial connection? On which product do I need to disable the password?

On your PDA it will be COM1 and set it to 9600 Baud. Com1 is the port on the bottom of your pda, you shouldn't need any dialer software, just be able to select com1

You turn off the password in the socket utilitiy, i assume you have it setup to auto matically connect to your gps.

no, you want it as the initiator not the acceptor. This is your main problem...

This is my 5 c. , I have Axim From this summer and Hicom GPS 303
MMF.
Friend of mine just got Ipaq 2210. it has buildin Bluetooth.
I was thinking. He could buy one of those expasion slives for $89 from semsons and solar powercharger for it. This way he will have always on GPS unit in his car, he does not need bother with pluging and unpluging gps from the PDA when he liaves the car. He can use both his slots for memory. one for maps an other for MP3's for example. To bad we can't do anything like this with AX5.

Yes, that was the problem. Thanks a lot.
Now the Socket brand with bluetooth, GPS is defective. It won't charge or run, with the supplied charger. I saw somewhere that other people have had the same problem.
The one I talked to at the place I bought it at, Neutronexpress.com wouldn't believe that it was defective and didn't want to give me a RMA number till I got a little tired of his run-around in some language that you could barely make out and had to yell at him to give me the number. Hopefully when they get it back they will give me a refund without trouble. I'm going to try the bluetooth gps at gpscity.com.
Thanks for your help in solving the problem.
They wouldn't let me post any messages for a few days.

Thanks, Kevin
