well i haven't yet been able to take a pic, but here's what i did because I didn't want to order a mount off of the internet. I went to wally world, found a cell phone mount with a swivel base. I took the actual cell phone holder part off, clipped off the clips that held it to the swivel base and sanded that surface smooth. This gave me about a 1.5in. x 1.5in. flat area to attach some industrial grade velcro to. I then attached the other side of the velcro to the battery of my axim. The base had some adhesive on it so i attached it right next to my guage cluster on the dash. it is rather unobtrusive and is "right there" so I don't have to look down too far.

Anyone have this mount from Deluo ... It even has a speaker built-in to amplify the sound so you can hear the directions easier than using the little buil-in speaker ...

this is what i bought:

http://www.1800mobiles.com/uncupholmoun.html

its a sanyo universal cell phone holder, it mounts in your car's cupholder. i paid 3 bucks for it at target. it was in the clearance section in the electronics dept. well worth my 3 dollars and easy to use. although i recieved the arkon vent mount from semsons for free. i like this more. the only bad thing is i had to take the actual pda holder off the vent clip from my arkon, i then transferred this to my sanyo cupholder mount.

i'm not a big fan of having a cop being able to see a pocket pc when he is behind me at night, and when it is in the cupholder, it is at a really nice level out of cops eyes, yet still easy for the driver to glance down at it.

Hmm. Went to this site to take a look and got all kinds of cookie error messages telling me to enable cookies (although it couldn't figure out what kind of browser I was using so it just told me how to enable them in several different browsers).

Thing is, I do have them enabled and am in fact developing a web site right now that uses them and it works fine. So does the aximsite cookie and all other cookies.

Guess they have some technical issues...

Did you install the newest IE 6 SP1 fix? I had the some problem after installing the fix. I had to set the privacy to the lowest to enable cookie again.

The problem ONLY happens on this web site... hardly worth changing privacy settings for.

The best mount for the Axim is the new ARKON Powered PDA Mounts. They just introduced what they call pedestal "bundles" You can get one solution that will have several different pedestals in it such as the windshield pedestal, console pedestal, and the vent mount pedestal. SEe http://www.arkon.com/CM525.html for the Mounts for the Axim.

I read earlier that someone said the ARKON windshield pedestal held like there was no tomorrow. It is very true! They have both a 8" and a 14" pedestal.

If you are ordering an ARKON windshield mount, be sure to specifically ask for the NEW windshield pedestal. They are the ones shown at http://www.arkon.com/pedestals.html

The new windshield pedestals come standard in the Powered Mounts at the link I've listed above. They are not yet standard on the Universal Mounts at http://www.arkon.com/pdamounts.html

They will substitute the new windshield pedestal if you are ordering the CM620 or CM626 however you have to ask for the new one.

I use the Powered Mount with my GPS CF solution. The Arkon Powered Mounts have a built in speaker which boosts up the volume tremendously in the car. You can actually hear the voice commands clearly even with the window down. It's awesome!

Yes, I can... but it's a moot point because I already have the Arkon powered pda mount model CM527 (with the longer arm). I like it... I agree with rolrbl8der, they are nice. I can play the stereo and still hear the gps navigation commands.

I wish I had a flat surface on the lower part of my dash to mount it to, but the windshield mounting works okay too. I just hate even a slight decrease in visibility.

It would be nice if I could get the Arkon 527 in the UK (the longer neck)

heh - Bucky, only just returned to the forums after a few months of enjoying the pleasures of my Axim/Gps on the open roads.

Yah quid = pound

I like checking out the pics of all your different Axim mount rigs and some very impressive setups going on. :)

Here's my Proclip/Brodit set-up in my VW Golf.
Its nothing flashy but solid and I like it.
