Simple Car mount for Dell???

I will utilize my Dell as a GPS device. I have already purchased the pakcage, but it comes without the car holder. Hence, I need to buy one. Which one would you suggest? I want one that stays in very solid even if I go in and out of ditch with speed. For that reason I don't think that the windshield sucktion cup holders would work very well, but let me know if I am mistaken.

Thanks!

I've tried lots. There is a travel vent clip from The Clip company that can take any of the "button" cases and can be used in many vehicles. I used it with an iHolster from iProductsonline.com with some success, but on my car the vent kept tipping down from the weight of the Axim and the screen was hard to see in the day. I also tried a cup holder mount from Arkon, but it was too low to see comfortably. So next I went with a vent clip from Arkon, but used the PDA holder that I had gotten earlier from Arkon. The new side gripper has big "ears" on the sides that grip the PPC, and to my eye it looks like they would press on the side buttons on the Axim. The one I have holds the Ax from the top and bottom, and is adjustable so that I can get the CF slot and bottom connectors both free but hold the unit at the same time. I don't know if Arkon makes that older type anymore. I think it was a CM223 I ordered orignally, and then just the vent mount clip by itself. According to the website, the CM223 is being phased out. It's very solid, and the little foot brace on the vent bracket keeps the vent from turning down.

PS. I still use the iHolster/vent clip combination when I travel. It let's me set up the Axim as a GPS in any rental car I get when on the road. Slick!

How good are those suction cup holders? Would they not loose their grip from time to time? Specialy in the hot or cold weather?

What about this one http://www.semsons.com/pdaholder.html?

I use mine in a Toyota 4Runner in Utah. The 4Runner is a pretty bumpy ride. The mount has never come loose. It works great! I like it alot better than the vent mount I had before.

Due to the shape of the Axim, it would seem that an 'active' car cradle would be impossible to construct. Does anyone think otherwise, or even know of anything available?

I'd have to agree with Coolhandace that the Arkon windshield PDA holder (CM620) is a good choice. I initially had some problems with it falling off since I did not adhere to Arkon's installation instructions. But everything is sturdy and solid for about 3 weeks now. I can go over speed bumps and railroad tracks and the Axim stays perfectly in place. In order to get this stability, I had to adjust the flexible gooseneck so that the holder is actually resting on my dashboard. That way there will be less weight being put on the gooseneck and suction cup. Also make sure you clean off the area on the windshield where you will be placing the suction cup with the included alcohol pad.

I forgot to mention that I also use a GPS CF card (Holux) and a wifi card (Netgear MA701) with the Axim on the Arkon mount with no problems at all. It's a great setup for road navigation and war driving! (Not at the same time though)

So what's the consensus?

or

http://www.semsons.com/arunpdawinmo.html for $30?

This works fine for me. The holder has the built in transmitter for the audio to work through your stereo.

And of course the added benefit of MP3's.

That is the same one I have...but it looks different. Where is the elongated handle...don't see it? And the bottom looks different too.
