What is the difference between the $1000 GPS and a $80 on ebay connected to an axim?

What is the difference besides that they get a screen and speakers? The software better, voice quality, maps etc? I am thinking of buying a bluetooth GPS unit for myself to hook up in my car. What products would u recommend?

All-in-one GPS units are purpose built for GPS use. Its a piece of custom hardware with custom software. That's why it's so expensive, and accordingly, it works better as a GPS unit than a Pocket PC.

There are tons of reviews for BT GPS receivers so just search around, especially the review section of this web site. Aside from that you will also need a GPS software package, reviews for which again can be found on this web site.
