I am not sure why you complain about prices at different places. One vendor offers the receiver at a higher price with some extra ("free") stuff while other vendor offers the same item at lower price but without extra stuff. It is just business.

When I purchased my BT15 I also looked at the two different prices. It never occurred to me to ask GpsPassion to price-match the lower price AND offer me the "Free" stuff.

I guess "Free" always comes against some conditions.

CapFusion, buyGPSnow offered to match apples to apples, but you declined. That's your choice. You tried to get the unit, PLUS the premium gifts that they offered, which is not reasonable to compare. If you pay the set price, you get some premium gifts, but if you want a price match, it's got to be for the exact same item.

Hi guys,

Maybe I am missing the point here. Why you guy considering paying the premium price so you believed you get free item as they stated / advertised? This part I do not really understand. I thought free is meant free. They did not mention anything about needed to pay premium price in order to have free item. If you paying premium price then you paying for the so call free item. So how does that make it free? Maybe I simply do not understand.

I sort of agree with CapFusion. But, I do think that both parties are being petty. Just to add alittle to this. Try this site and see what happens. http://store.yahoo.com/semsons-inc/iblgpsre16ch.html Now, you have a "free" case in the mix. The same unit different name. Different kind of apple.

Many companies offer to either meet or beat another vendors price. When that happens
they will match or beat the exact same offer from the other vendor. If they would've
met the price and still gave you all the free stuff, that would've be great.

Fact is, the company tried to work a reasonable deal with you on the price.
With that, if you're not interested then just keep shopping.

Seems rather simple to me. IMHO

How about a "blue" apple for $189

calvin13 / AximTT, you both have a good example there.

I was trying to get at are the same identical item and the word FREE as advertised and the principle being free item. I understand this is business or marketing way of getting customer to purchase your item over other competing vendor with catches or incentives ... etc. But indicating free only if you pay the premium price with the same identical item. So where is free?

I would understand if they reply indicating that they can not beat / match that price but they reply that they can but without the free item or pay premium price to get the free item. So how the free item become free if you pay for it by paying premium? I still trying to figure out how JakeRich see this.

They did not indicated any condition regarding about price match.

I sure love JakeRich to be my number customer.
Paying 11 buck premium more for free item. 11 buck is not money? So when did free become 11 buck?

Nothing in life is free. You always have to meet terms of some type in order to get the free stuff. This can't be your first experience with such things? I can understand you trying to get a duplicate deal on price and still try to get them to throw in the freebies but i think you just need to move on.

I realized and understand there nothing is free in life.

I also assumed / guess some of you guy never get free item or experiencing free item from any vendor. Occasionally some vendor do promote free item added to item that they are selling and when price match, they do honor it unless there a term or condition that prohibit. One vendor I honor it that I reccall some few month back was OfficeDepot. Compared on a HP PC with Frys same HP and still get free memory upgrade. I think they also give you $30(?) buck gift card that I did not realized that they have.

I already moved on after I declined. I am just posting to see other reaction on this issue. I see most user do not realized there false advertising / claim. As in these case, they did not have any term / condition apply in order to get free item.
