For users that have the version with the cold problem and SN ON, is it possible using SirfIIIdemo to disable this static navigation ??? Anyone tried ??

Seen this morning:
"New version is now shipping! The new version has the cold weather bug fixed and static navigation disabled." http://www.semsons.com/glbtgpsrebts.html
No, it can't be disabled by anything I can find. However, I would recommend you contact your provider and ask for a replacement because of the cold problem, and that replacement will come with SN disabled by default. I believe GlobalSat is offering to replace all the early units with the cold problem through those vendors, so you should be able to do that. If not, contact GLobalSat directly.
Did it work for you? I tried, following the GPSPassion steps and saw no change. It wasn't important to me so I quit trying and didn't bother to diagnose why it didn't work.
I did not try yet cause I first need to find a pc with bluetooth. Again, this was just a naive question .... I am sure you are an expert in this field but it is strange that things do not work as they should ....

I'm no expert at how sirfdemo works, I just followed the cookbook and didn't see any change. I didn't try again and didn't diagnose. It might work, but for me it didn't on the one and only try.
Ok, I tried it again and this time it appears to have disabled SN ok. I see the fix wandering around as most do, inside the standard range of error. This receiver is really smoking! In my basement I have 6 of 9 in use, and it can see the other 3, just isn't using the data. The three it's not using are right on the horizon, so the signal must not be able to get through the dirt around the basement, but the signal can be used through the two storys above.
I did a power off/on cycle on the 338 and the new SN setting persisted. Looks like SirfDemo can change the SN state.
I just have tried. This works ...
For the ones who wants to try, just follow the explanations from GPspassion. This works perfectly (do not forget to save your changes going back to NMEA protocol as explained).
