I'm sorry guys I just don't quite follow this post.
I've got a Garmin GPSMap60C and Mapsource City Select Australia installed.
Am I able to install the City Select onto my x50v??? and if so, what do I need to do it??
Would really appreciate any help.
Thanks.
Scott.

The only way to do that today is to buy the GPS 10 Deluxe version. It comes with the Que apps that you have to install on your Axim. With that you can use your Australian CitySelect (95% confidence)
Unfortunately included in your price is the N. American Cityselect. There are no options today that I know of to unbundle the two.
What you want to do is still pretty new so few people know the answer with certainty. Why don't you call Garmin?

Already did, but they were thoroughly unhelpful.
Basically said that if I wanted to use Mapsource products I should have bought a Que.
Pretty pathetic huh! No wonder they're getting killed by Mapopolis etc in the states.... just a shame they don't have maps for Australia otherwise my problems would be solved :)

It takes you to their nRoute web page. I am not sure when I last saw it, but I thought I remembered seeing/reading that it could be downloaded. The link still works and exists, but I cannot see it leading me to be able to download the nRoute program.
I would recommend getting the GPS10 Deluxe version after seeing that the link above does not get you the nRoute software.
A quick call to Garmin should resolve this for you. I cannot imagine why the nRoute software if it is bundled with the GPS10, is not made for sale if it is not downloadable for free to customers that have bought GPS10 OEM and the Mapsource programs later.
Odd Garmin GPS strategy.

I just can't believe that they have such a great product..... we've already bought it, and they say "Hey Guys, thanks for spending your hard earned on Mapsource, but you can and must use it only on your PC or Laptop. If you want to use a Palm you should throw out Mapsouce and buy a Que with our new software"
What a rip!
I'd be happy to pay a nominal fee for a program to allow maps to be installed from my REGISTERED and FULLY-PAID-FOR product to my PPC but they just aren't offering such a thing....
It'll be the last Garmin I ever buy!
(shame it's such a great GPSr)

consider yourself lucky in that you are an axim user
you can spend thousand on their earlier hardware with memory card of under 16 mb and go no where
axim does give us a lot and a lot of choice

True, I have no complaint about the Axim. It's the best PDA I've ever owned. My complaint is that Garmin are only allowing their product (which I think is excellent) on their "dumbed-down" Que. I don't want to spend good money on such a slow system that is so limited.
Why not bring out something for people that want a fully-functioned machine like an Axim but who also recognise the benefits of good mapping programs like Mapsource rather than ask us to buy their inferior product and then turn us all off Garmin.......
Just my $0.02

I don't think they're getting killed by Mapopolis. I use the Garmin, and although I am not a fan of their odd marketing style, I have to say their product rocks. I've used both Mapopolis and Mapsource for my PPC, and the Mapsource w/iQue software rules.

So how do you get the iQue software for Axim then?

Check my signature. I bought the GPS10 Deluxe version. It came with North America CitySelect and the IRoute and IQue software.

what the question was about buying the map software alone (unbundled).
try it yourself to get europe or australia cityselect and you will know the notorious "unlocking" issue
