Navigation slows with use of GPS and headset

I recently tried using my BT headset with my x50v and BT GPS unit. I thought it might be less annoying for my passengers to have to listen to the robotic Mapopolis voice. With this combo, the position of my vehicle in Mapopolis is dramatically behind my actual location. As soon as I disconnected my headset, the position caught up again. Is this typical? Is the device being slowed too much by having 2 BT connections?

That's interesting. Could be CPU usage. Have you tried a different mapping program? I can't see how Mapopolis can chew up so much CPU. Have you tried using other programs that might be CPU intensive like movie players and try using your BT headset as well. Is there any choppiness?

I've used both GSPlayer playing MP3 on the Axim as well as running my Garmin maps. I don't see any lags in position on the mapping software nor do I see any sound issues with playing MP3s.

Could be that you're right about multiple BT streams. Eventhough the Axim can handle it, it might not be optimal. There have been others who has upgraded their BT driver on their Axims to the latest. This might help <or not>.

Thanks for the reply, Lawman. I have tried it with videos on Betaplayer without any choppiness, audio lagtime or other problems. I do have iGuidance and will give that a try tonight. I may also try the newest beta version of Mapopolis to see if that's any better.

Same problem with iGuidance v2.0. I pair with the headset and the Axim first, then open up iGuidance which automatically opens up the BT Manager. Then I just select my GPS. My location is shown several hundred feet behind my actual location. Anyone have ideas to improve the performance?

What version of BT driver do you have? Have you tried to upgrade to a newer BT driver?

Before my A03 upgrade, I had upgraded the Widcomm drivers to v1.6.0 build 0600. After the A03 ROM version, I can't get the upgrade to work. I have tried both installing the .cab file to my /Windows folder and double-tapping the file as well as using Winrar to open the BT update and transfer each of the files to the /Windows folder. Of course I do the mandatory soft reset afterwards. After each attempt I see that I still have v1.5.0 build 2600. I'm really confused by this as it was such an easy thing to do before. Any ideas? I have read through Kozak's thread about the Widcomm update and haven't found any clues.

I'm curious if anyone ever found a fix to this problem. I just tried with iGuidance and has the exact same issue.

Thanks
