Mapopolis freezes my X50v in VGA w/ A02 ROM or greater

I had Mapopolis running fine in true VGA mode w/ ozVGA and ROM A01. After I upgraded to ROM A02 the program freezes when I choose View Map. This is both the standard and beta releases. I hoped A03 would fix it, but no it still freezes. The program runs fine in SE_VGA, and I can get VGA resolution using the beta version, but soft-resetting everytime I want to use Mapopolis is a PITA. I guess whatever "VGA driver enhancements" Dell included with the A02 and A03 ROMS don't get along with something in Mapopolis when using ozVGA.

gerbila,

You'll want to go to this link and download the latest beta version (4.50.47):

http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/t...TOPIC_ID=19126

It completely runs in VGA mode now and has been working pretty good for the last three days.

Munk,
Believe it or not, that's the version I'm running! I just tried it again and it freezes on the Map screen when I'm using ozVGA. I'm running the program and maps off a CF card, if that makes any diff.

It doesn't need ozVGA. Just run it in "normal" mode and it adjusts to the VGA resolution.

Sure IT doesn't need VGA, but I DO when I'm running my other apps; that's why I keep my system in true VGA all the time and only switch for compatibility reasons.

Then you will have to switch to run Mapopolis. The team at Mapopolis is aware that it has issues with ozVGA and has publicly stated on their support forum at www.gpspassion.com that they are content with the VGA support they presently provide and have no plans to try to accomodate ozVGA, or any other third party VGA Hack, in the near future.

I'm using SE_VGA and having the same problem with Mapopolis. I'm using A03 and the latest Mapopolis Beta (just downloaded it last night). Gerbila, how did you get it to work with your similar setup?
