GPS Utility

For those of you who use GPS + PDA's for whatever. I am looking to build a small GPS utility app. Any suggestions for what you would like to see in such a thing? The general idea is to build a tool to provide info on your GPS, its signal strength, quality of position info, #satellites etc.

Ideas:
- stats: position, alt, UTM, Easting, Northing, Lat, Long
- satellites, signal quality, position accuracy
- output waypoints to a file for import to GIS systems.

Note - I realize there are others out there that do this already...

What about a speed warning that is variable and subtle?
All current speed limit warnings are on/off and are irritating at times. Either an increasingly fast beep, or changing tone with increased speed over the limit, and perhaps a similar thing approaching the limit, would be really useful. Even better, allowing user adjustment of the freq and/or tones would be perfect.
I live in an area where speed limits can change once a minute and not having to concentrate on the speedo would be a real bonus.

In addition to UTM, Easting and Northing... add automatic 6 digit (100 m) abbreviations. Hell request user input for what scale they want, 1000, 100, 10, 1m, etc... and then the software will automatically give the abbreviations. (ok, so we're talking future GPS with 1 m accuracy.)
