Where do you have it installed? Did you have a previous version?
Any error messages? Did you try a soft reset?

Have you tried emailing Mapoplolis? I use it and Lamar there has emailed me back rather quickly, with very helpful info, all the times I have emailed them. Email Mapopolis Support

I installed in BIS and no previous versions have been installed. Soft reset numerous times. I was able to get it to work, but its very buggy. I can launch map and it will work, but if I rotate the map or try to unzoom/zoom...the screen gets all Fckud up (this is in regular qvga mode no hacks). I run 99.9% in true VGA mode with the SE_VGA and it would be nice to run in VGA but Axim hangs whenever you zoom/unzoom or do anything else. All my programs are loaded in BIS or CF/SD card. I have around 30mb of ram available before the startup of Mapopolis

Have you tried this version ? 4.50.48 beta.
According to Lamar this version is supposed to fix those display problems. I'm running it on my X50 fine.

Download 4.50.48 Beta Here

Mapopolis is already VGA-aware, so you don't need to run SE_VGA. Mapopolis has said on their support site that they don't plan to support any of the so-called VGA hacks (SE_VGA, ozVga, etc) because they support VGA as Microsoft delivered it. In the X50v, as delivered from Dell, the new beta works well in VGA portrait mode, but still has bugs in landscape.
