I remember when SA was stilled turned on they would move around alot, However where i'm at now (I need the BT-338) I can hardly get a signal with the gps in the Window (Evermore chipsset)
And when I do I get poor DOP Because about 30 feet away is a Tall Stone wall about 25 or so feet high, and I'm in a low valley area. So narrow that when a gps passes overhead I can hang onto it for maybe 25 Min until I loose it.
So I would need to take it outside but in a wide open area.
If I had a good enough Recever (again BT-338) I could monitor the Sky view and check out a few things.

I'm about 120 miles northwest of you in the Berkshires. There are a lot of hills and valleys here; this is the main reason I purchased the BT-338. And I can totally give up on receiving WAAS signals on my other GPSrs since the AOR-W sits at an elevation of 35 degrees...directly through that mountain to my south!
The BT-338 really works well, even picking up from inside my house!

yeah I was riding under a overpass last night and I lost the signal and I was only under the bridge for maybe 2 Seconds.. And it had to been at least 30 Feet above me..
Oh! big question.. I always been wondering about this since I first got my gps...
The guy view from iguidance that I posted above, and the numbers on each gps, Is that the Number of the gps? I thought they had 24 Gps sats. in space but I see like a sat that has 28 listed and so...
The orbits are 11 hours, 58 minutes (1/2 sidereal day) long, so the satellites move slowly in the sky, unlike lower orbits, which are in the 90-120 minute range. They also appear to move faster than the geosynchronous orbit satellites that just drift very slowly in the sky in about the same location all the time. There are three or four satellites now broadcasting the WAAS signals in geostationary orbits.
The numbers are the numbers of the GPS units. As of November 2004, there were 29 functioning satellites in orbit.
Stop, too much information, now someones going to have to explain what a sidereal day is , Just kidding! keep asking your questions, we're happy to help.
hmmm.. So they keep the non working one's in Orbit?
I'm using Satscape to track them or Nova for Windows.
ALso I think there is a program for the PPC that allows you to use a gps on 2 devivces at once.. I can't think of the name, and I swear I saved the link to it but I can't find it.

Also I been asking but never got an anwser... I'm going to be looking to get the BT-338 gps my first BT device, any problems of lossing the BT signal while driving?

Except for the Boston tunnels, I never had a lost signal.

heh sorry I ment the Bluetooth signal from the Gps to the Pda.
Just remember to turn on the BT-338 BEFORE firing up the Axim and your navigation software. I have not had any Bluetooth communication issues while the units have been running, even when I put the BT-338 on the rear parcel shelf.
However, the BT-338 has a power saving feature that turns itself off after so many minutes (5?) without sensing a paired Bluetooth signal. Thus, if you turn off your Axim while you are at a rest stop, and come back to your car and try to pair the BT-338, it won't happen.
Once I got used to this, I have not been bothered.
