Exclamation newbie, bear with me (GPS/HANDHELD solution)

Hi. I am a loyal DELL user and am looking for a GPS solution for my wife. She is a home health nurse in North NJ. I would like to use bluetooth for the reciever.
Is the X30 good enough or should I go for the X50?
Is it possible to have a list of addresses that you can scroll through, maybe from OUTLOOK
Sorry for the stupid questions but I want to get this right

x30 is fine w/bluetooth gps. I use x30H and Globalsat BT-338. You will also need navigation software - there's excellent review's on this site and also at gpspassion.com. I use Oncourse Navigator. Sites such as buygps.com offer gps/nav software bundles.

Either unit will do the job. However the 50v is a little easier on the eyes.

I use Ostia software and it can route using your outlook contacts. I would assume most of the others would too. A nice feature it has over most of the others is voice prompting.

I use the BT i-360 dock and it is nice but I don't think it's anything my wife would want to fiddle around with. So you might want to get one with a serial cable and if it's crucial pick up a dock later.

Touch screen ????

Thanks for the advice. I assume that most software is touch screen activated and has voice directions. Now the tough descsion is high end x30 or low end x50

That's an easy one if you don't care about VGA then just go with the X30H.
The only thing you'll lose is a little x50 styling and a CF slot. But you'll gain built in wifi :) plus my x30 hasn't given me 1/10 of the head aches the x50v has.

I don't think any of the MS software has voice direction. There are only a couple of companies that have voice direction. If you want voice direction then I would go with the Dell package I think mine was about $180 and then the BT dock was $85.

Btw there are a few links around here that will save you some dough

I use the x30 mid w/tomtom navigator. Excellent results. It has voice direction, street by street text direction, 3d and 2d maps, night colors which are easier on your eyes at night, and great maps. It connected to my ax w/in 1 minute on initial use and has been flawless since. I bought the x30 b/c tomtom said it was the best pda for their navigation.

Thanks for the info

Thanks for all the info.It is very much appreciated.
DELL is having a sale so it looks like the X50v high or mid.
I have posted a new thread about my lovely Delorme Earthmate with USB cable,So it is either that or the GlobalSat 338n in black.
Software may be tomtom but I am still deciding
And the car mount I havent even thought about yet
I have a TOYOTA MATRIX with weird roun air-vents that don't take well to things being clipped to them
But I will update again as I finally decide and buy
Thanks again Tim
