Question regarding Mapopolis Navigator
Can anyone tell me how big (in term of MB) of a SD card do I need to hold all the data on the Mapopolis Navigator CD? I would like to copy all the data to a SD card one time. Is 256MB sufficient?

not hardly :-)
I just subscribbed to Mapopolis Navigator package
and the Place guides,
I've already downloaded every map of every state
including canada...
total of everything is 610 MB, and this is compressed
in ZIP files of every state....
How ever, each state is about 20 MB give or take...
for the size of the state....
or go by county.. and get down to less then 3 or 4 MB per county

And if you add all the POI data bases, you're up around 800M (US only). 'Can't wait for that 1G SD card.
Now here's a point where somebody might be able to help me. I have several states in my measly 256M SD card. I have the major highways in one directory, then each state (with its POI) in a separate directory. Now I can load any state from my SD card by selecting the subdirectory and clicking "load contiguous", or I can load the major highways.
After thinking about this, it doesn't seem very optimal. When I take a long trip, I will want to load major highways plus the destination state. But I haven't figured out how to load all maps from two directories, and no other maps.
Can anybody help? Or is there a better way to organize the maps?

Instead of load contiguous you can do load "Selected" ..
but that may take a while....
especially sorting out all the counties...
the setup is kinda crazy....
to bad it couldnt use the GPS location and
load maps say in a 100 miles radious of where you
are...

hi
" When I take a long trip, I will want to load major highways plus the destination state. But I haven't figured out how to load all maps from two directories, and no other maps."
From tools - choose map-then top pull down-choose-ALL FOLDERS, (Mapopolis will find em)
Then on the bottom you might want to uncheck the contiguous box then under selection select -multiple select- and procede to select the countys you need.
You can find the counties you need from the major roads map zoomed out just right
hope this helps

The software is free from the Mapopolis web site. The maps, as far as I know, are only available from Mapopolis (web, phone, or mail) at their set price. In other words, the cheapest place to get Mapopolis is from Mapopolis.

I was worried my laziness
would lead me to the end of my 365 days
and I would not have a map I would end up
needing the next day! .. lol
