I have a Dell Axim X50v running Tomtom Navigator 5. I was supplied with an Aktronix BT GPS Receiver, which I set up and paired per the information in Rev 2.0 of the Aktronix BT GPS User Manual.

The problem is that the bluetooth connection keeps disconnecting after around 2mins. 20secs.

This happens while I have Tomtom active or if I'm just checking the status of the bluetooth connection in Bluetooth Manager. The only time that it doesn't happen is if I run the VisualGPSCE application that is provided by Aktronix to check the installation.

I'm assuming that VisualGPSCE is keeping the bluetooth connection alive with some sort of heartbeat. However, I would like to be able to keep the connection alive with Tomtom.

Can anyone suggest what I need to do, please? I'm sure that it's a simple configuration foul up on my part.
