I need help reinstalling Belkin Nav software

Don't ask me how, but my X30 high performed a hard reset. I just turned it on and it was at the setup screen. I had my Belkin Navigation software installed and I'm about to leave on an 8 week road trip. Arghh! I have the disks, but when I go to setup on disk one, it sees the existing installation on my desk top system and only allows me to Remove, repair or modify my installation. Can any one tell me what I need to do to reinstall the program on the Axim?
Thanks,
cadjak

The cleanest way would be to select Remove to completely uninstall from desktop first. Then reinstall.

Did you also look at the Add/Remove programs list when connected to Aximsite? Sometimes you can reinstall it only to the Axim side by checking the program name in the list.

If you're going on a trip soon, I'd suggest you do a backup using Sprite Backup before you go. Should your device hard reset again, you can use the self-executing file to restore in minutes. You would not need ActiveSync, etc.

The quickest and easiest way is to uninstall and reinstall the software on the desktop. It leaves any maps that you have installed in place so you won't have to go through that if you installed the entire US there. You can get the .cab file off CD1 and install it directly if you want to install to main memory or have cabinstall on your PPC but you may not be a comfortable with that.

Thanks. I was reluctant to uninstall the program from my PC, but after I did, I was able to install the program onto my X30.

All my maps were on my memory card, so they were still there.

Thanks again for the help. Now I wish I knew why it did a hard reset with no warning.
