gps sets off wifi and blue tooth

On my recent trip I noticed that virtually every time I disconnected my axim 30mid from it's tomtom cradle (I use tomtom navigator 2004) or connected it to the cradle, the unit acted like the bluetooth/wireless button was pressed, and both would turn on. I had to wait until bluetooth turned on, then I'd press the button to turn both off...every time. This got quite annoying and makes no sense. Any ideas?

Is TomTOm set to auto-detect a GPS? If so, it may be searching all COM ports. When it gets to COM7, that would trigger the WiFi Enable logic and turn on whatever you had turned on last time. Tell TT not to auto-detect and that behavior should stop.

How do I check to see if the auto-detect is set?

For TomTom, I don't know. Look at the menus for settings to see if there is one for GPS.

Problem solved. My cradle pushes the wifi/bluetooth button when I put the pda into the cradle on a slight angle. If I put it straight in it doesn't set off the wifi. I disabled the wifi/bluetooth button and now I don't have that problem.

Hence the reason I turn bluetooth and WiFi on at the task bar and do not have a button to do it. I was always accidently hitting that button on my X50v.
