iTrek GPS question

Sorry if a bit off topic,

I use the iTrek bluetooth GPS with OCN5 on an x50v, works like a charm, was wondering if anyone has succesfully paired the iTrek with a Bluetooth notebook or PC with Windows XP SP2?

I cannot get the thing to pair, wanted to try some windows based programs as well.
The manufacturer tell me no additional drivers are needed, my Dell x300 notebook with built-in Bluetooth can see the GPS, but cannot pair with it, I even tried a serial connection as advised by Semsons Inc without success.
The GPS is visible as a device in range, but has a big blue ? next to it

I have a AVL BT-15 which I believe is same GPS. I installed Iguidance last night and it took a few restarts of the program to get it going. Make sure the GPS is outside and has fixes then try connecting, I paired it to my Laptop before starting the program. Good Luck

Nope, it didnt work, it seems to pair, but no useable services are found by the notebook, and the BT icon in system stray does not change color to indicate active connection, otherwise works with x50v?
Frustrating!!!
Do other BT GPSes work ok with notebooks?

As you can see by my link in previous post I am having the same problem on my x30H. I have tried un-pairing them and re-pairing but that didn't work. On my desktop I do not have this problem.

I had a problem getting AVL BT-15 connected to my laptop. I found that it was because of Microsoft's Streets & trips. I believe there's a laptop version of GPSinfo. Did you try that one?

I got my Belkin to pair with XP SP2 on my Thinkpad. I had to delete the pairing I had and re-mate them. Until I did that, I had no COM port to use with any nav app I had on my laptop. After re-pairing, I had COM 6 & 7; I told iGuidance to use COM 6 and bingo, it was ll good. Tonight I'll try with my iTrek M3 and will report back.
