Holux bundle from buygpsnow.com

Hi, has anyone tried the Holux bundle from buygpsnow.com? It seems like a pretty good deal! $240 with external reciever and vent mount.
Is that vent mount any good? And how useful is the external reciever?

Thanks!

The vent mount is pretty cheap and requires you to mount a "Button" on the back of you Axim. Mine is still sitting on the kitchen table. I am probably going to get the arkon powered mount with the speaker. I have a pickup and with the windows down it's kinda hard to hear the voice commands on the Axim speaker.

I got the CF receiver and it is very nice. I also like the CD version of mapopolis as I always have ALL the maps at hand.

They even had free shipping when I got mine.:D

Re: Holux bundle from buygpsnow.com

My arkon vent mount is good. and no need for external receiver.
I got mine from http://www.semsons.com/holuxgps.html

I also got my Arkon mount from semsons.com.

Arkon mounts are great and their customer support is also top notch.

Once I had a broken windshield mount. I send them an email to request for a replacement. To my surprise, I didn't have to send in my broken mount. All I need to pay is the shipping and they send me a new mount.

I am thinking of getting the new Arkon bike mount. Has anybody tried it already?

I have no experience with this so maybe this is a dumb question but doesn't that block the vent? So no air conditioning or heat from that vent? And what about cold or hot air blowing on the Axim/GPS reciever?

Hey I just got the combo. from Semson. I had look at the Deluo and didn't like the free mount. For the same price with a much better Arkon mount plus 10% off if you are gps passion member you can't beat it at Semson. I am using it and I really like the Mapopolis software just like other members wrote. The info. is right on the money. Don't need or care for the external antenna just more cluttering; the Holux works just fine without it.

Now if anyone of you concern about the vent block that is not an issue. It is far away enough so the airflow will be around it. Got to have a holder for the Axim it can be dangerous and very distracting holding it in your hand while driving. I know because I am doing it while waiting for my Arkon holder from Semson.

if you close the vent to one side, it should be fine
