My Comparison DELL GPS (iguidance) v/s Tomtom GO 300 v/s Navman iCN 510

I've chance to play with this 3 units,
1)Navman iCN 510 - Which uses Navman SmartST™ V3 software
2)DELL GPS Software (which uses rebranded iGuidance) with Rikaline 32 channel receiver.
3)Tomtom GO 300.

Things which I liked or disliked about each is

Mapview
- Navman has very good map view, actually this was my first GPS so I didnot had any other thing to compare with. But after using iGuidance (DELL software) and TomTom I would say map view of Navman is little bit better than TomTom.
so for Mapview my vote would be
Navman 9/10
TomTom 8.5/10
iGuidance 6/10

-Speed of Navman is better compared to iguidance but TomTom was best, TomTom will exactly tell you where to turn. e.g. if you are in Rotary (might be new term for people outside of MA) it tells specifically which exit to take out of rotary and shows it correctly on map. iGuidance doesnot have voice prompt for exact place, it just tells turn after 500ft, turn after 100 ft and when you reach place it just makes some kind of sound "dang". Which I confused sometimes with lost of GPS signal.

for speed my vote would be
TomTom 9/10
Navman 8/10
iGuidance 6/10

- Rerouting
Rerouting was somewhat similarly implemented on Navman and TomTom. With iGuidance it keeps prompting to make u-Turn instead of recalculating fast. Also when it recalculates it does intend to take you back to same route. I'm not sure but routing calculation on iGuidance was not that good althoug I asked for shortest route it took me thru not so short route. I know from my every day experience that shortest route from my work to my home is 33 miles. Whereas it showed me route which is like 39 miles. TomTom also has tendency to not calculate internal roads in route but still once you get onto internal roads it is fine.
my vote for route calculation and Rerouting
TomTom 8/10
Navman 7.9/10
iGuidance 5/10

-POI
This is feature where iGuidance beats hell out of Navman and TomTom. It has much better POI feature compared to Navman or TomTom. It also shows phone number of POI.
my vote for POI
iGuidance 9/10
TomTom 7/10
Navman 7/10

So now I need a software which will have features of TomTom/Navman for routing and mapview and POI of iGuidance. Is there anything out there ? How good is Co-Pilot Live ? I've not seen many posts on Co-Pilot here. Might be because of Co-Pilot being expensive. But with Co-Pilot you can qualify for competiotr product switch for 99 USD

That's a nice review. Not many people actually try more than 1 different gps b/f purchasing. How did you happen to do that? When I made my purchase I just read reviews, but to try different products would be the ultimate. I think you summed everything up very well, good job.

I purchased Navman 510 initially and got it for like 299 so it was deal for me. I got TomTom to play from my office as part of evaluation& onle of my freind gave me DELL GPS software. Apart from POI there is very less in DELL GPS software compared to TomTom. But still I've not decided which one will I buy for my Axim x50v. I'm not sure if Destinator PN will work on Windows Mobile 5.0 and it supports VGA or not.

Thanks for the info. I only got to read reviews. If I actually got to play with them before making my purchase that would have been the ultimate way to go.
