KTamas, my attention was pointed to Russian Pocket PC site Hpc.ru’s
latest article on the HTC 2007 roadmap.
If you would really like to know what devices HTC (the elading manufacturer of Pocket PC Phone Edition devices) will come up with, give
the article a try – it’s really cool! It also contains a LOT of information on for example the new, hard disk- and GPS-enabled supergeek device, the
HTC X7500 Athena. Also its price – a whopping $1700! (Huh, you can get an OQO for that!!!) Another moot point seems to be the keyboard – I don’t think it’ll be so good as, say, that of the HP Jornada 720 (not just because of the size difference, of course). Unfortunately, it’s still not known whether it’ll have goodies like TV receiver / USB host / hardware 3D acceleration).
Unfortunately, there isn’t much information on the other flagship model,
Omni, in the article.
Note that some words in the article haven’t been translated into English; if you don’t speak Russian, with some guesswork, fortunately, they’re pretty easy to understand. For example, 'для видеотелефонии' means 'for video phoning' (yeah, it's nice to be able to speak Russian too ;) ).
