Hi all,

For anyone interested, this offer is still valid. I just bought the French explanatory, the French-English and the Oxford dictionary for $20. Normally, this would cost over $100.

That's a great deal!

Benefits?

Can someone please explain the benefits of the Merriam Webster Collegiate over the 'regular' free dictionary available online? Obviously, having the application locally stored has benefits but other than that I'm failing to see any special reason to buy what's already available for free.

I think it depends on how much you need a dictionary. If you need it often, you may not be able to access it when you need it if you need to rely on an Internet connection. It's also much quicker to access when it's locally stored. There might also be some specific features of the software itself that might make it more user-friendly than a generic online dictionary.
