Why is this better than a 4 AA battery Extender ($6.99 at Semson's) (4 Nimh 2500 mah = 10000 mah) or does this avoid the hassle of recharging, or am I missing something?

Even though you're using 4 aa batteries the 2500 doesn't multiply...I think the other unit is it's own battery.

So does the extra mah make the charger last longer (charge Axim more times before having to recharge charger) or does it give the Axim more power while charging (you can turn it to highest brightness, wi-fi, etc.).

Both of those... because both of those things require power...

Gives you a longer battery life or if you go into power user mode you can have more performance longer.

Voltage in series is additive, current isn't. That's why wth 4 1.2V NiMh you get 4.8V@2500mA

Got one a month ago, not at this good price though! :azz:

But... You can use it on much more than your Axim. You can power your cellular, digital camera, MP3, watch a long movie etc. Super when traveling. :approve:

can anyone here figure out how to convert this into a USB connector? Is there an adaptor out there that will work? I don't really like using the Dell dongle. Much rather have a single cable with the connector built in.

BTW, I just ordered mine!
