Factorydirect is doing a Bait & Switch!!
They are advertising a 55X 2GB SD but selling you the Dane-Elec 2GB instead. The Dane-Elec part is a Toshiba SD card and is NOT 55X even though they say it is.
Even Dene-Elec and Toshiba's websites won't give you the relative speed for this card. They only say it can do 10Mb 'max'. Pocket Mechanic tells me the X50 writes to it a .1X and reads at 7X.
Also, the $89 is AFTER a Factory Direct rebate of $20, so you need to pay $110+tax and submit for a rebate.

I have Kingston and Ultra branded SD cards that are also made by Toshiba and are slow - but then again, the SD and CF drivers in the X50 aren't the most optimized either.
Thanks for the head's up...I was going to replace my sandisk 1 gig with a 2 gig...

Sandisk's website mentioned all sandisk CF cards are type I card. Axim X51v has Type II slot, so I cannot use the sandisk ultra II CF on my x51v right?

Type I cards will fit in a type II slot fine. Most of the cards are Type I size.
I'd love to know what the experts suggest here. I've used both types, have a card reader than supports both types, and don't have a particular affinity for either...

thanks,
ben
I use an SD card to install programs to and leave it permanently installed. I use CF cards for things like movies, mp3, etc., that I can change out without messing up my programs.
