Awesome Deal - PPC Mag Software $249.00 Thru 27 Feb Only!
This is something I just found and thought I would share it. I bought Pocket PC Magazine and found they are going to have the software package as they did last year. Last year Iwas "too new" to the PPC world and didn't want to put down $250. for software due to the fact that I was missing the Palm World. After messing around and trying, really trying different software, I know that I am staying with PPC. Anyway, here is the link:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/2006cd/
The title came to be after figuring a per title cost after buying the package for $249.00 I DON'T WORK FOR THE COMPANY just passing what I think is a GREAT deal.

I bet they don't sell many of those for $249.00.

i wonder if they will sell ANY. I would venture to say that most users already own at least some of those programs. and no one is gonna want to pay for that again. especially that much.

Since you can't buy individual pieces of software, your title is somewhat misleading

There are probably a lot of people like me that only want 2-3 apps from that CD that they don't already have. That makes them more like $83-124.50 each. Could be handy as an archive of the apps on your PDA, but still expensive.

agreed. $250 is just too much to shell out at once.

They have a spreadsheet on their website to help you determine if it makes sense to purchase it. Download the Spreadsheet and check all the software that you want to use and it will give you the total of the software you can compare with the price of the package. If you have purchased just about all the software you want then it probably isn't a good deal, but if you just bought a PPC then even if it seems like a lot of money it is a great deal.

While I agree completely, a post title claiming software for under $2, and a link to the supposedly <$2 software could certainly be misconstrued by any user.

Just trying to keep it real! :)

Well, I will start with an apology to everyone on this site. I am sorry if I have offended any of you with the way I wrote my post. That was not my intention. Most importantly, I apologize to the folks at Pocket PC Magazine. Please do not let my post be a reflection of the magazine or the software package they have put together.

I only submitted the post because I think it is a GREAT deal for a person like me, who has not yet bought much software, is fairly new to the PPC platform and will save big bucks. (Based on what I want.)

I enjoy Aximsite and find it very helpful and informative. With that said, I will go back under my rock for another few weeks before make another post. Again, Sorry if I offended anyone.

No need to apologize! Wasn't trying to jump on you - I really just wanted folks to know it was the $249 PPC Mag Software to which you were referring, and not something they could click & go buy for under $2.

BTW, I this reminds me personally of what I call "sales-speak".

Like when the new car salesman "accidentally" makes a mistake and orders that upgraded stereo system in your special-order car, adding $1,000 to the price. He then proceeds to tell you how with a 60 month car loan, that $1,000 only ends up being about $0.55 per day, much less than a cup of coffee - "...and, after all, don't you consider yourself to have earned the right to spend less than your morning cup of coffee on such a great piece of stereo equipment? In a beautiful brand new car like this? Tell you what.... I'll take another $200 off. OK?" And you willing tell him "Certainly!", and buy that $550 radio --- for only $800!!..... plus 60 months of added interest!!

Breaking product costs down to "tiny, seemingly insignificant numbers" like that is usually something only a marketing or sales person would do!

Thanks for posting this. ALL information is great and help everybody. The CD is a great deal for those migrating from Palm to PPC (a lot of us have been there) and do not have a lot of programs.

Unfortunately, most of us have purchased already some of the better ones. But if you don't have the software, it is a great deal.

I love Pocket PC Magazine (doesn't it have a new name now?). I wouldn't have found Aximsite.com without it.

Thanks and welcome to Windows Mobile World!

That would be me. :D

I've purchased The Best of Everything package (software CD, registration codes for ALL software on the CD, subscriptions to Pocket PC and Smartphone magazine's print and digital (PC and Pocket PC) editions, $25 coupon for UsedHandhelds.com, demo CD of last year's Best of Everything and a pen/stylus/laser pointer). The CD won't ship until April as they're still adding software to the package but, as you could see, there's a TON of useful (and some totally time wasting) software in this package. I'm looking forward to playing with my Axim like I never have!

I'll give everybody an update once I get the software.
