Cingular 8125 $50 AR at buy.com

http://www.buy.com/prod/Cingular_8125_Pocket_PC_Multimedia_Phone_Cingular_Wireless/q/loc/12435/160002173.html

Requires new activation. I wonder if I could wangle into a "mere" 2-year?
Read and heed; I don't offer this, and I have nothing to do with Buy.com or Cingular.

Shipping price: $279.99 with a 2-year commitment.
Rebate of $80 available after 180 days of consecutive service, paid in full.
Rebate of $150 available if you select a calling plan of $39.99/month or higher, and a Data Connect or Xpress Mail calling plan add-on feature of $34.99 per month or higher.
= $49.99 final cost.

So you're in it for 6 months, minimum. And they have that $230 of yours for 6 months, too.

Not bad, but I like to stay away from 2 year plans. My mom got a Cingualar phone, 2 yr. And now, we want to upgrade to Q, and we will probably have to wait.

A lot can happen in 2 years. Unless your under a rock or just plain don't care, the urge to upgrade to the "latest and greatest" always gets to ya somehow.

Cingular is notoriously bad about keeping track of whether you are eligible or not. My plan still shows two numbers eligible, so we could upgrade anytime. One co-worker upgraded from a V551 to a Razr within months, and her account still shows eligible. The instructions for rebate say pro-rated for 6 months, so maybe the upgrade is paid for by 6 months. Don't know about that.

Anybody with some inside info? Could you upgrade again in a year and only extend your contract to 2 years from that date, instead of from 4 years from the first contract start?
