That's actually pretty cool, but $6 for a piece of small piece of plastic is a little expensive.

I have three. They work great. Not just plastic-it is a small piece of plastic and brushed metal! So there. It feels about as heavy as the standard item. For me, it is worth the convienience. I got all three for about $8 for shipped off of e-bay. I highly recommend that.

is there a chance the top could come away from the stylus/pen when removing it from the Axim leaving the stylus stuck inside and you just holding the top cap?

Makes sense, and a good question. I have never had such a problem. The pen cap has a "snap" sound and feel when fully put in place.
