Lexar 256 SD for $65...good deal???

Hey everyone...I got this offer from this dude on e-bay, and he's willing to sell 256mb Lexar SD cards for $65 SHIPPED...I was wondering if this is a good deal.

This deal may be better it is new and has a rebate.

something tells me those "SMART" cards are sarcastic when it comes to axim users.

if you do plan to get one, watch out for the cheapo "handling" fee....some say theres a way to upgrade to fedex overnight and only pay $2 more, no separate handling charge.

as for a Lexar at $65, you want to find out if it was made in Japan first. and DONT have the guy just look at the package because they all say made in Japan. He has to look directly at the stamped info on the back of the card itself.

dunno if thats practical for your arrangement.

basically, I wouldn't buy a 256MB SD for $60 or up, but I was shopping when they had $20 rebates taking the prices down to $48-$55. they're gone now of course....I guess $65 is reasonable as long as youre positive it was made in Japan.

cards made in taiwan or china (the only other places reputable SD has been made) frequently have formatting problems in the axim, and sometimes fail completely.
