Just because it comes with wifi doesn't make it a better deal. The Toshiba's aren't as good in my opinion. I had an E-310 before my Ax, and it wasn't nearly as good. First, the screens are reflective (except on the new Toshiba's) instead of Transflective, so you can't view them as good. Personally, I would go with the Ax.

only differences i saw in the specs were that the dell had a better screen and a longer battery life--- if that's true- i dunno if the 160 dollar difference is worth it?

hehe i dunno- i want more opinions =)

remember i said which is the better DEAL

be careful, for $215 it's probably a rebuilt/refurb.

also, toshiba hasn't confirmed if they come out with the PPC2003 update, so you may be stuck with PPC2002.

I had purchased one, the screen was pretty scratched so I sent it back.

the built in wireless is pretty cool, but it does eat battery.

picked up the axim advanced for $263, and am very happen. with PPC2003 (with fix) and whey my linksys wcf12 now working....very nice.

The website says that it is a refurb. I have also heard that the built in WiFi does not have near the signal strength as the CF cards. A co-worker had one of the Toshiba models with the built-in WiFi and said he couldn't go more than 10 feet from the AP without losing the signal.

I did a lot of checking before I ordered my Axim the other week, and thought Dell was the better device. Even co-worker's experiences back this up. Besides, Dell's wireless card works on my LAN at work, Toshiba's built-in doesn't.

After the fiasco I had with my E740, I returned it (Toshiba even told me to). I later bought the Axim. Sure, it had some slowness issues but evetually that was solved.

A huge drawback in my opinion, is that the battery on the E740 is nowhere near the life of the Axim's battery....can't remember exact time in hours though?? Also, it is not a removable battery....so if it goes dead on you, you can't just pop another battery on.
